★ Kundli Milan Picks 2026

Best Kundli Matching Apps (2026): Kundli Milan & Gun Milan on Android

Every kundli milan app promises a score out of 36. They differ in what they check behind that number, whether they show ads, how recently they were updated, and what you can do once the score is on screen. Here are seven Android apps for Ashtakoot guna milan, ranked on facts from their Google Play listings.

Quick picks

  • Best overall: AskSoma — guna milan inside a full chart, Manglik for both partners, and a chat about the result; no ads.
  • Best free match report: Clickastro — koota scoring plus papasamya, dosha and dasha sandhi; no ads.
  • Best all-in-one Vedic toolkit: AstroSage Kundli — Ashtakoota matching next to Kundli, KP, Lal Kitab and panchang; contains ads.
  • Best quick Hindi guna milan: Kundli Milan (Nithra Apps) — rasi + nakshatra in, score out of 36; described as free, contains ads.
  • Best when you only have dates of birth: Kundli Milan (Regional Calendars) — matches by date of birth as well as birth star.
TL;DR

Every app below will give you a guna milan score out of 36. AskSoma ranks first because the score sits inside a full Vedic chart, it reports Manglik status for both partners, and you can keep asking questions about the match by chat or voice, with no ads. Clickastro is the strongest free match report, with papasamya and dasha sandhi checks. AstroSage Kundli is the broadest toolkit. The Nithra and Regional Calendars milan apps are the quickest Hindi options.

What a 36-point guna score is, and what it isn’t

Ashtakoot milan (also written Ashtakoota or Ashta Koota, and usually called kundli milan or gun milan) compares the Moon in two birth charts across eight factors, or kootas. Each koota has a fixed maximum, and the eight maximums add up to 36:

  1. Varna, 1 point — temperament and outlook.
  2. Vashya, 2 points — mutual influence: who tends to lead and who yields.
  3. Tara, 3 points — the count between the two birth stars, read for wellbeing.
  4. Yoni, 4 points — instinctive and physical compatibility.
  5. Graha Maitri, 5 points — friendship between the planets that rule the two Moon signs; a proxy for mental wavelength.
  6. Gana, 6 points — Deva, Manushya or Rakshasa temperament.
  7. Bhakoot, 7 points — the distance between the two Moon signs, read for family life and shared prosperity.
  8. Nadi, 8 points — Adi, Madhya or Antya; all-or-nothing, and classically linked to health and children.

What the score is. It is a structured, Moon-based snapshot. Because it depends only on each person’s Moon sign and nakshatra, it can usually be worked out from date and approximate place of birth, and sometimes from the birth stars alone. That is why several apps on this list can match from rasi and nakshatra without any birth time.

What it isn’t. The total says nothing about the 7th house, Venus, the Navamsa (D9) or the dasha periods two people will be living through, which is where most astrologers look for the character of a marriage. It also leaves out Manglik (Kuja) dosha, because Mars is not one of the eight kootas. A Manglik check depends on where Mars falls from the Lagna, and the Lagna depends on birth time, so an app that never asks for birth time cannot give you one.

How families tend to read it. The common convention treats 18 of 36 as the minimum acceptable total, with higher scores read as more favourable. The weighting matters more than the headline, though: Nadi and Bhakoot carry 15 of the 36 points between them, so a 20 with both intact can be a calmer match than a 24 where both are zero. Classical texts also describe cancellation rules for Nadi and Bhakoot dosha, and different authorities accept different exceptions. South Indian families often use a separate ten-porutham match instead.

None of this makes the score a forecast. A high total does not promise a happy marriage and a low one does not rule a match out. The useful question when choosing an app is how much it helps you look behind the number.

How we ranked these kundli matching apps

This guide does not include any accuracy trial. Every competitor fact below is quoted or paraphrased from the app’s Google Play listing as it read on 1 October 2026, and the order reflects how each listing lines up against five criteria:

  1. Depth behind the 36. Does the listing describe a koota-by-koota breakdown, dosha checks (Manglik, Nadi, Bhakoot, papasamya) or a comparison of the wider charts, or only a total?
  2. What you can do after the score. Can you ask a question about the result, look at timing, or move on to choosing a wedding date in the same app?
  3. Google Play signals. Average rating, install bucket and how recently the app was updated.
  4. Ads and how you pay. No ads ranks above ads. A free tier with a flat subscription ranks above paid one-off reports, which rank above a per-minute wallet for routine questions.
  5. Language. Hindi and regional-language support, counted only where the listing says so.

The 7 Best Kundli Matching Apps for Android in 2026

1

AskSoma

Guna milan inside a full Vedic chart app, with a conversation about the result

AskSoma is a Vedic astrology app whose matching lives in Cosmic Contacts: you add the people in your life with their birth details, and the app compares their kundli with yours. The charts are computed with Swiss Ephemeris and include divisional charts, so a match is not limited to the Moon-based 36-point view.

The free kundli matching tool on the AskSoma website shows how the scoring is handled. It breaks the score down koota by koota, restores Bhakoot points only in the one classical case it applies (both Moon signs ruled by the same planet), and deliberately does not auto-cancel Nadi dosha, because authorities disagree on the exceptions. Manglik status is checked separately for both charts and reported as “not computable”, not “not Manglik”, when a birth time is missing.

Where AskSoma differs most from a single-purpose milan app is what comes after the score. You can ask its AI astrologer about the match by chat or live voice, in 21+ languages with Hindi first, and the answer is grounded in both charts: “our Bhakoot is zero but the total is 26, what does that mean?” gets a reading of the two actual Moon signs. When the talk turns to timing, the app gives dated timing windows with confidence levels, and Pro adds a Prediction Ledger that tracks hits and misses. A Muhurat finder covers the wedding date, and birth-time rectification helps when one partner’s time is a guess.

It also runs on WhatsApp and Telegram on the same account. Its 22 insight areas include love and relationships. Google Play shows no ads, and the listing states there is “no per-minute clock”.

Pros

  • Cosmic Contacts kundli matching built on Swiss Ephemeris charts with divisional charts
  • Koota-by-koota breakdown; Manglik checked for both charts and flagged when birth time is missing
  • Ask follow-up questions about a match by chat or live voice, in 21+ languages (Hindi first)
  • Dated timing windows with confidence levels; Pro Prediction Ledger tracks hits and misses
  • Muhurat finder and birth-time rectification in the same app
  • No ads on Google Play; free tier with no per-minute clock; also on WhatsApp and Telegram

Cons

  • Newer and smaller than the legacy apps on this list (10K+ installs on Google Play)
  • No live human astrologers listed
  • Western astrology is lighter than its Vedic side

Pricing: Free tier available. Pro: from ~$0.27/day · $14.99/mo · 6 months $59.99 · day pass from $2 · India ₹14/day.

Best for: Couples and families who want the guna score explained against both full charts, and who expect to keep asking questions after the number appears.

Clickastro

A detailed free match report with checks most milan apps never mention

Clickastro treats kundli matching as more than a total. Its Google Play listing describes free guna milan (koota) matching that also covers papasamya, dosha analysis and dasha sandhi. Papasamya weighs the malefic planets in the two charts against each other, a check many South Indian astrologers expect. Dasha sandhi asks whether both partners reach the junction between two major periods at around the same time.

The app also generates a free janam kundli with predictions and daily panchang, and keeps multiple family profiles, useful when a parent is comparing several proposals. Premium reports and consultations with named astrologers are paid. The listing says horoscopes can be generated in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and Oriya.

Pros

  • Matching covers papasamya, dosha and dasha sandhi, not only the 36-point total
  • Free janam kundli and free kundli matching
  • No ads on Google Play
  • Nine languages listed, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam
  • Multiple family profiles for comparing several proposals

Cons

  • Detailed written reports beyond the free match are paid
  • Astrologer consultations are a separate paid service
  • The listing does not describe a way to ask follow-up questions about a match outside a consultation

Pricing: Free kundli and kundli matching; premium reports and astrologer consultations are paid. Google Play lists in-app purchases.

Best for: Families who want a thorough match report that includes South Indian checks such as papasamya.

AstroSage Kundli

Ashtakoota matching inside a very large Kundli toolkit

AstroSage Kundli has the largest install base on this list, 50M+ on Google Play, and its horoscope matching uses the Ashtakoota guna milan system. Matching sits inside a broad toolkit: a free Kundli with divisional charts and dashas, the KP system, Lal Kitab and Jaimini tools, and a panchang with muhurat, hora and rahu kaal.

That breadth lets you move from the guna score to each partner’s full chart, dashas and auspicious dates without changing apps. The listing also describes AI astrologers you can chat with or call, and premium human AstroSage astrologers for consultations. Languages listed are Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali, and the listing was updated on 1 October 2026, the day of this check.

Pros

  • Ashtakoota guna milan alongside a full Kundli with divisional charts, dashas, KP, Lal Kitab and Jaimini
  • 50M+ installs and a listing updated the day this guide was checked
  • AI astrologers by chat or call, plus human astrologers
  • Nine languages listed, Hindi first
  • Panchang and muhurat tools in the same app

Cons

  • Contains ads, according to Google Play
  • Matching is one feature among many rather than the app’s focus
  • Human astrologer consultations are a paid extra

Pricing: Free to install. Google Play lists ads and in-app purchases; the listing does not state prices.

Best for: People who want matching, a full Kundli and a panchang in one familiar app and do not mind ads.

Kundli Milan – Vivah Matching (Nithra Apps)

A single-purpose Hindi guna milan app

In this focused app from Nithra Apps you enter the bride’s and groom’s rasi and nakshatra, and it returns an Ashtakuta (8-koota) score out of 36 with a factor-by-factor breakdown: Varna, Vasya, Tara, Yoni, Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot and Nadi. That suits families who know both birth stars from an old patrika but not exact birth times.

It also lists vivah muhurat dates and daily to yearly rashiphal in Hindi. The listing describes the app as “absolutely free”, and Google Play shows that it contains ads. The listing does not mention Manglik or other dosha checks, so treat its result as the Moon-based score on its own.

Pros

  • Quick Ashtakuta score from rasi and nakshatra alone
  • Full koota breakdown, Varna to Nadi
  • Hindi interface and Hindi rashiphal
  • Vivah muhurat listings in the same app
  • Described as free on its listing; updated August 2026

Cons

  • Contains ads
  • No Manglik or dosha checks mentioned on the listing
  • No full-chart comparison beyond the Moon-based score

Pricing: The listing describes the app as “absolutely free”; it contains ads.

Best for: A fast Hindi guna milan when you already know both partners’ birth stars.

Kundli Milan – Vivah Matching (Regional Calendars)

Guna milan by birth star or by date of birth

Same name, different developer: this Kundli Milan app comes from Regional Calendars. It also scores Ashtakuta (8-koota) milan out of 36 with a Varna-to-Nadi breakdown, but its listing adds a second way in: you can match by the bride’s and groom’s rasi and nakshatra, or by date of birth. That helps when nobody in the family remembers the nakshatra.

The app adds daily, weekly and monthly rashifal in Hindi and a 2026 shubh muhurat list. Its listing calls it “absolutely free”; Google Play shows ads and no in-app purchases. Its last update was 30 March 2026.

Pros

  • Match by rasi and nakshatra, or by date of birth
  • Varna-to-Nadi koota breakdown
  • Hindi rashifal and a 2026 shubh muhurat list
  • No in-app purchases; described as free

Cons

  • Contains ads
  • Last updated March 2026, older than most apps here
  • No Manglik or dosha checks mentioned on the listing

Pricing: The listing describes the app as “absolutely free”; it contains ads and has no in-app purchases.

Best for: A free date-of-birth guna milan when the birth stars are unknown.

Kundli Software: Horoscope (Ojas Softech)

A classic Parashari Kundli program with 36-point matching and a Mangal Dosha report

Kundli Software comes from Ojas Softech, the developer behind AstroSage Kundli, and reads like a traditional desktop Kundli program on a phone. Its listing describes Vedic kundli matching on the 36-point system, a detailed Parashari Kundli (Shodashvarga, Vimshottari Dasha, Ashtakvarga), KP and Lal Kitab, and separate Mangal Dosha and lifetime Sade Sati reports. The Mangal Dosha report is the useful companion to a guna score, since Manglik status is not one of the eight kootas.

The listing also covers chat and call consultations, rashifal, a panchang and an AstroShop, in Hindi, English, Tamil and Bengali. It has a 4.5 average rating and 5M+ installs, but Google Play shows its last update as 6 April 2021, the oldest on this list. Check that it runs properly on your Android version before you rely on it.

Pros

  • 36-point matching plus a separate Mangal Dosha report
  • Shodashvarga, Vimshottari Dasha and Ashtakvarga for a deeper chart read
  • 4.5 average rating and 5M+ installs
  • Hindi, English, Tamil and Bengali

Cons

  • Last updated April 2021, according to Google Play
  • Contains ads
  • Overlaps heavily with AstroSage Kundli from the same developer

Pricing: Google Play lists ads and in-app purchases; the listing does not state prices.

Best for: Users who want a report-style Kundli program with a Mangal Dosha check and are comfortable with an older app.

Kundli Matching (Indo Soft)

Name-based matching for when nobody has birth details

Indo Soft’s Kundli Matching is the simplest app here. Its listing describes Vedic kundli matching for marriage and the option to match the boy’s and girl’s horoscopes by name. Name matching maps the first syllable of each name to a nakshatra, a traditional fallback that gives a rough answer when birth details are unavailable.

Google Play shows a 3.5 average rating, the lowest on this list, 100K+ installs, ads and no in-app purchases. The last update was 25 October 2023, and the listing gives little detail beyond the two features above.

Pros

  • Matching by name when birth details are missing
  • Very simple to use
  • No in-app purchases

Cons

  • Lowest average rating here (3.5)
  • Last updated October 2023
  • Contains ads, and the listing gives little detail on what is checked

Pricing: Google Play shows no in-app purchases; the app contains ads. The listing does not describe pricing.

Best for: A rough name-based check when nobody has birth details.

Android checklist before you install a kundli milan app

Check these on the Google Play page before you hand over two people’s birth details:

  • Play rating. On this list the averages run from 3.5 (Indo Soft) to 4.5 (Kundli Software), with AskSoma, AstroSage Kundli and Clickastro between 4.3 and 4.4.
  • Ads. Five of the seven apps here contain ads, including all three dedicated milan apps. AskSoma and Clickastro show none on Google Play.
  • How you pay. The dedicated milan apps are free and ad-supported. Clickastro sells premium reports and consultations. AstroSage Kundli and Kundli Software list in-app purchases. AskSoma has a free tier and a flat Pro subscription with no per-minute clock.
  • Hindi and regional languages. Only count what the listing states. Six of the seven listings here mention Hindi; Clickastro and AstroSage Kundli each name nine languages, and AskSoma lists 21+.
  • Last updated. Kundli Software was last updated in April 2021 and Indo Soft in October 2023. The rest were updated in 2026.
  • One matching-specific check. If the app never asks for a birth time, you are getting the Moon-based score only. Fine as a first filter, but it cannot check Manglik.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best kundli matching app in 2026?

On the criteria on this page, AskSoma ranks first: its Cosmic Contacts matching sits inside a full Swiss Ephemeris Vedic chart, Manglik status is checked for both partners, you can ask follow-up questions about the match by chat or voice, and Google Play shows no ads. Clickastro is the strongest free match report, with papasamya and dasha sandhi checks, and AstroSage Kundli is the broadest all-in-one toolkit. AskSoma publishes this guide, so weigh its own ranking with that in mind.

How many gunas should match for marriage?

The convention most apps follow treats 18 out of 36 as the minimum acceptable total, with higher scores read as more favourable. Many astrologers then look past the total: a zero in Nadi (8 points) or Bhakoot (7 points) is usually weighed more heavily than a few extra points elsewhere, and classical cancellation rules can apply to both. Read the koota-by-koota breakdown, not just the headline number.

Can I do kundli milan without birth time?

Yes, for the core score. Ashtakoot milan uses each person’s Moon sign and nakshatra, which date and approximate place of birth usually fix; that is why the Nithra and Regional Calendars Kundli Milan apps can match from rasi and nakshatra alone. What you lose is anything that depends on the Lagna, including the usual Manglik dosha check, and some certainty when the Moon sits close to a nakshatra boundary, where it can change star within hours.

Why do two apps give different guna scores for the same couple?

The usual reasons are a Moon close to a nakshatra or sign boundary, where small differences in birth time, time zone or ayanamsa move it; different handling of dosha cancellations, with some apps showing the raw total and others an adjusted one; and different traditions, such as the South Indian ten-porutham match. If two apps disagree, compare their koota-by-koota tables rather than the totals.

What is Nadi dosha, and does it rule out a match?

Nadi dosha arises when both partners share the same Nadi (Adi, Madhya or Antya), which scores zero of the eight Nadi points. Classical texts link it to health and children, and it is often treated as the most serious koota result. It is not automatically disqualifying: classical sources describe cancellation conditions, such as the same Moon sign with different nakshatras, though authorities do not agree on the full list. An astrologer reading both charts can tell you which exception, if any, they apply.

Does a high guna score mean a happy marriage?

No. A high score says the two Moons sit in a classically harmonious relationship across eight factors. It says nothing about communication, values, money habits or how two people handle difficult years. Astrologers who take matching seriously also read the 7th house, Venus, the Navamsa and both partners’ dasha periods, and even that is guidance for a family conversation, not a promise about how a marriage turns out.

Is there a free kundli matching app without ads?

Going by their Google Play listings on 1 October 2026, AskSoma and Clickastro both show no ads and offer free matching. AskSoma’s free tier also includes your own Kundli and free daily messages; Clickastro’s free matching includes koota scoring with dosha, papasamya and dasha sandhi analysis. The three dedicated milan apps on this list are described as free but contain ads.

The Verdict

If you are weighing a proposal this month, the useful question is not which app can produce a number — all seven can. It is how much each one lets you see behind it. AskSoma takes first place on this page’s criteria because the score arrives with its working shown: kootas broken out, Manglik checked for both partners and flagged when a birth time is missing, and an AI astrologer you can question by chat or voice about the two actual charts, with no ads and no per-minute clock. It is also the smallest app here, with no live human astrologers.

If you want a thorough free report to print and discuss with family, Clickastro is the strongest alternative, especially for South Indian households who expect papasamya. If you already live in AstroSage Kundli for your panchang and Kundli, its built-in Ashtakoota matching will do the job, ads and all. For a quick Hindi score from two birth stars, the Nithra and Regional Calendars apps are free and fast. Whichever you use, read the kootas, not just the total, and treat the result as one input to a family decision.
