Start with a question you can check
Ask the same concrete question in each app: “Which placement supports this answer, and what calculation settings were used?” Keep the question and birth inputs unchanged. Record whether the response names a planet, sign, house or period that is actually visible in the chart. A confident paragraph with no inspectable reference gives you less to work with than an explanation that names its limits.
Separate the calculation from the explanation
An ephemeris supplies astronomical positions. Zodiac and ayanamsa settings affect how those positions are reported; a house system assigns houses or cusps. An AI may explain the result, but fluent wording does not validate either the calculation or a prediction. Compare degrees before comparing interpretations. If the underlying chart is inconsistent, resolve that first.
Use a repeatable follow-up test
Keep a copy of the first answer. Then ask: “What would change if my birth time were ten minutes earlier?” Check whether the app recalculates, asks for revised inputs, explains its limitation, or simply tells another story. Look for a useful admission of uncertainty
A useful response distinguishes recorded birth time from an estimate and calculated positions from traditional interpretations. Ask which part of an answer remains uncertain. An explanation that acknowledges missing information can be more useful than a precise date with no supporting calculation. Do not treat an AI confidence score as a measured probability that an event will happen.
Compare the conversation you need
If you want help learning a chart, test whether unfamiliar terms are explained in ordinary language. If you prefer voice, check that you can understand the answer, stop it, repeat a phrase and return to the relevant text. Try the language you actually use. Check what leaves your device

Are calculation accuracy and prediction accuracy the same?
No. A chart position can be checked against the selected astronomical model and settings. That does not establish that an astrological prediction will happen.
