Your rashi is set by the Moon, not the Sun. Jyotish treats the Moon as manas — the mind that receives — and Meen is the last of its twelve seats. That position is not decorative. In the Kalapurusha scheme, where the twelve signs map onto the twelve bhavas, Meen occupies the twelfth: the house of release, expenditure, sleep, foreign ground and moksha. A Meen Moon is therefore a mind sitting in the zodiac's exit, and almost everything that gets written about this sign is a soft restatement of that one structural fact.

The fact worth having instead is arithmetic. Meen holds Venus's exaltation, deepest at 27°, and Mercury's debilitation, deepest at 15°. That pairing is what actually generates the sign's character: in these thirty degrees, the faculty of rasa — devotion, aesthetic surrender, the capacity to be moved — reaches the highest point available to it anywhere in 360°, while the faculty that names, sorts and files reaches its lowest. A Meen Moon does not lack intelligence. It processes by absorption before it processes by category, and the categorising step arrives late and reluctantly. Everything popularly filed under Piscean vagueness is this ordering, and it is a real structural feature rather than a temperament.

Meen is also one of only two signs whose 1st and 10th houses share a ruler. The tenth from Meen is Dhanu, and Dhanu is Jupiter's as well — so identity and public standing run through a single graha. Kanya is the other case, through Mercury. What that produces for Meen specifically is that reputation is experienced as a matter of conscience rather than of position: a Meen Moon will walk away from work it can no longer believe in, and be genuinely puzzled that anyone would call that a career decision.

Three and a bit degrees, and the only stretch of Meen where the sign lord also lords the star. Aja Ekapada, the one-footed goat, is a scorching deity, and the symbol set is a sword and a two-faced man — the harshest imagery anywhere in this sign. Born here, the Meen absorptive quality carries an edge that the rest of the sign does not have: conviction arrives whole and argues. The Karka navamsa is the softening agent, which is why this pada so often reads as fierce about something it loves rather than fierce in general.

Saturn holding thirteen consecutive degrees inside Jupiter's water sign, under Ahir Budhnya, the serpent of the deep. This is the ballast of Meen and the reason the sign is so routinely underestimated: patience here is structural, not performed, and anger is held rather than discharged. Mercury's deepest debilitation at 15° Meen falls in pada 4, in a Vrishchika navamsa — so the zodiac's lowest analytical point sits on Saturn's star and Mars's navamsa, which is a harder and more capable combination than "debilitated Mercury" sounds. Padas 1 and 2 run through Sun and Mercury navamsas and are the most outwardly organised ground in the sign.

The twenty-seventh nakshatra and the last 13°20′ of the circle — the only nakshatra that ends the zodiac, which is Revati's entire classical significance. Its deity is Pushan, the guardian of roads and safe arrival, its symbol a fish, its aim moksha; the traditional reading is nourishment, protection and safe passage, and it is the star classically invoked for the start of a journey. Two things make it structurally exceptional. Pada 4 is vargottama — the navamsa returns to Meen — so the sign concentrates rather than dilutes at its very end. And Venus's deepest exaltation in the whole zodiac, 27° Meen, falls inside that same pada 4. The single highest point Venus can reach anywhere sits in the final 3°20′ of the circle.

Revati pada 4 is also gandanta — the classical "knot" at the junction of a water sign and the fire sign that follows, and this one, closing the zodiac into Ashwini, is the junction the texts treat most seriously. Traditions differ on how wide the sensitive band is and on which shanti practices apply, so treat it as a flag to get your birth time confirmed rather than as a verdict about your life. The Moon covers about 13° a day, roughly 0.55° an hour, so a two-hour birth-time error moves you a full pada — and a pada moves the navamsa lord, which changes more than any transit on this page.

Jupiter over a Meen Moon — the dissolving mode, and what Jyotish does not say about Neptune

Jupiter rules two signs, and the difference between them is the most useful thing anyone can tell a Meen native. Dhanu is Jupiter's fire sign and holds his moolatrikona across its first ten degrees — the seat where he operates at close to full designed capacity. Meen is his water sign, swakshetra but not moolatrikona. Same graha, different office. A Dhanu Moon gets Jupiter as teacher: doctrine, direction, the arrow that has already chosen a target, conviction that travels outward and expects to be argued with. A Meen Moon gets Jupiter as solvent: the same expansive principle applied to a water sign, where its work is to dissolve the boundary between the knower and the thing known rather than to define it. Both are Jupiter. Only one of them is trying to convince you of anything.

The natural-zodiac position seals it. Dhanu is the ninth sign — dharma, the law you follow. Meen is the twelfth — moksha, the point at which following stops being the operative verb. Jupiter is the only graha given charge of both ends of that arc, and a Meen Moon lives at the far end. This is why Meen natives are so often genuinely religious and so rarely orthodox: the sign is wired for the experience rather than the framework, and it tends to find the framework thin after it has had the experience.

Now the honest part about the associations this sign attracts. Neptune has no standing in Jyotish whatsoever. It was discovered in 1846, it appears in no classical text, it rules nothing, aspects nothing, and holds no dasha period — the entire chain running "Pisces → Neptune → mystical, foggy, escapist" is Western astrology from end to end, and importing it into a Vedic reading is not a translation but a substitution. AskSoma computes Meen with Jupiter as its sole lord, which is the Parashari position and the only one this page holds.

Ketu is a fairer question, and the answer is still narrower than most pages make it. There is a well-known secondary tradition assigning shadow co-rulers — Rahu to Kumbh, Ketu to Vrishchika. Meen is not part of that scheme, and no school this page is aware of makes Ketu a co-lord here. What genuinely connects them is significations rather than lordship: Ketu is the karaka of moksha, and Meen is the natural twelfth, the moksha bhava. Two independent routes to the same theme, which is a real resonance and not a rulership. There is also a genuine, unsettled dispute about whether the nodes have exaltation signs at all, with some texts placing Ketu's in Meen and others in Dhanu or Vrishchika. AskSoma's own exaltation table assigns the nodes no exaltation degree at all, precisely because the sources do not agree. We would rather show you the gap than fill it.

Practically, Jupiter's roughly twelve-month sign transit is the slow rhythm a Meen Moon actually lives by, because it is your own dispositor changing address. When Jupiter occupies a supportive house from Meen the sign feels legible to itself; when he sits in a difficult one the same person reports feeling formless rather than unlucky, which is a distinction worth making to anyone who lives with a Meen native. On 7 August 2026 Jupiter is at 13°49′ Karka, exalted, in the fifth from your Moon — and the specific consequence of that is the subject of the next section, because it is currently doing more work than anything else in your sky.

Saturn is on your Moon: the peak of Sade Sati, read plainly

What is actually happening, when it actually ends, and what is genuinely working in your favour while it runs.

Start with the mechanism, because the mechanism is unglamorous and the fear around this transit is not. Sade Sati is Saturn transiting the twelfth, first and second signs from your Moon — three signs, thirty months each, about seven and a half years in total. Nothing more mystical than that. For a Meen Moon the three signs are Kumbh, Meen and Mesh. Saturn entered Meen on our calculation around 1 April 2025 and is there now at 20°07′, which means you are in the middle phase: Saturn on the Moon sign itself, what the classical texts call Janma Shani and what our own chart engine flags as the peak. That is the honest label and this page is not going to soften it.

What the peak phase actually presses on is worth stating precisely, because vagueness here is what lets people sell remedies. Saturn is the graha of time, weight, consequence and delay. The Moon is manas. Saturn transiting the Moon sign puts those two in the same room for roughly two and a half years, and the characteristic report is not disaster but attrition: things take longer, energy is lower, enthusiasm is harder to summon, and matters you had been carrying without noticing suddenly register their full weight. Meen natives, who absorb before they categorise, tend to feel this as a loss of buoyancy well before they can name a cause. Naming it is most of the relief available. It is a transit. It has a start date and an end date and you are not deteriorating.

Here are the dates as computed, with the uncertainty stated. Saturn entered Meen around 1 April 2025 and reaches Mesh — beginning the third and easing phase — around 7 June 2027. It then retrogrades back into Meen around 17 October 2027 for a final pass, turning direct at about 26°28′ Meen on 25 December 2027, and clears the sign for good around 27 February 2028. Saturn then works through Mesh, the second from your Moon, until roughly 17 August 2029, retrogrades back once more that September, and finally leaves the Sade Sati zone altogether around 21 April 2030. The rising phase, Saturn in Kumbh, ran from about 20 January 2023. So the full cycle for a Meen Moon is approximately January 2023 to April 2030, and the hardest stretch of it — Saturn on the Moon sign — has about ten months left on its main pass. These are ingress dates from a sign-accurate engine, so read them as within a day or so, and never as a countdown to a specific event.

One detail here is genuinely per-person and almost never published, so it is worth the arithmetic. Saturn does not cross your sign once. It stationed retrograde on 28 July 2026 at about 20°14′ Meen and turns direct on about 12 December 2026 at 13°24′ Meen. That means the band from roughly 13°24′ to 20°14′ Meen gets three Saturn passes this cycle — forward, back, forward again — while the degrees between about 7°27′ and 13°24′ get only one. In nakshatra terms the triple-crossed band this year is Uttara Bhadrapada pada 4 and Revati pada 1. Natives in the first seven degrees of Meen had their own triple pass in 2025, when Saturn retrograded from 7°27′ back to 0°39′; natives in the last four degrees will get theirs in late 2027. If this year has felt disproportionately heavy compared with other Meen people you know, this is very often the reason, and it is checkable rather than mysterious. It also means the reverse is true: for many Meen Moons the worst pass is already behind them.

And now the part that most Sade Sati pages omit, which is the single most important thing in this section. Your sign lord is currently exalted. Jupiter is at 13°49′ Karka as of 7 August 2026 — Karka is his exaltation sign, and he passed the deepest point, 5° Karka, on about 28 June 2026. Karka is the fifth from Meen. More than that: Jupiter casts his ninth aspect from Karka onto Meen, which is to say exalted Jupiter is aspecting his own sign, your Moon, and the Saturn sitting on it, simultaneously and with his strongest drishti. This is not a comfort blanket, it is standard Parashari transit reading, and it is specific to Meen right now in a way it is not specific to any other Moon sign. The practical translation: this peak Sade Sati is running with a strong, well-placed dispositor supervising it. That is materially different from a peak phase where the sign lord is weak, and it is why so many Meen natives report this period as demanding but not destructive.

That support has an expiry, which is the honest counterweight. Jupiter leaves Karka for Simha around 4 November 2026 — and from Simha his aspects fall on Mesh, Dhanu and Kumbh, not on Meen. So the ninth-aspect shield lapses in early November, returns when Jupiter retrogrades back into Karka around 22 January 2027, and ends for good when he re-enters Simha around 28 June 2027 — which is, as it happens, three weeks after Saturn leaves your sign. The two changes very nearly hand off to each other. Meanwhile Rahu has been in Kumbh, the twelfth from Meen, since about 19 May 2025 and moves to Makara around 6 December 2026; Rahu in the twelfth reliably correlates with disturbed sleep, unaccounted expenditure and a pull toward somewhere else, which is a fair description of what many Meen natives have been reporting alongside the Saturn transit and which resolves on that December date.

What actually helps, stated without mysticism. Saturn responds to structure, and the peak phase punishes improvisation more than it punishes effort — regular sleep, regular meals, keeping obligations small and kept, finishing things rather than starting them. Reduce fixed commitments rather than adding them. Do not make irreversible decisions during the retrograde window if they can wait for the December station. Ask for help early, which is the thing this sign is worst at and which matters most here, because a Meen Moon under Saturn will absorb strain silently for months and present it as fine. If what you are experiencing is persistent low mood, hopelessness or an inability to function, that is a doctor's question and not an astrologer's, and no transit reading substitutes for one. Finally: nobody can sell you an exit from a planetary transit. Anyone pricing a remedy on how frightened you are of Sade Sati is selling the fear, and this page will not do that.

Timing and remedial practice for a Meen Moon

The weekday is Guruvar, Thursday, because Jupiter rules the sign — shared with Dhanu, so the day alone is not a Meen-specific instrument. The sharper tool is the hora: the first hora after sunrise on Thursday belongs to Jupiter, and in the Chaldean order his hora returns every seventh hour after that. For anything that wants Jupiter's quality — a teaching, a blessing, a commitment made in good faith, a reconciliation — a correctly chosen Jupiter hora does more than treating the whole of Thursday as auspicious, which it is not. The Meen-specific timing note is Revati: it is the classical nakshatra for setting out, and a journey or a launch begun under a Revati Moon carries a traditional sanction that no other star in this sign carries.

For deity anchors, Meen gives you three, and only the last is unique to it. Guru is the graha devata of the lord. Ahir Budhnya, the serpent of the deeps, presides over Uttara Bhadrapada — the thirteen degrees of Saturnian ballast in the middle of your sign — and is the traditional anchor for endurance under pressure, which makes it the apt one for the current transit. The distinctly Meen figure is Pushan, deity of Revati: guardian of paths, protector of travellers and of what is scattered, the god invoked for safe arrival. For a sign in the middle of a long Saturn passage, a deity whose entire function is safe passage is not a coincidence worth ignoring. These are devotional traditions, and we name them as that rather than as mechanisms.

On gemstones, Meen carries a trap sharper than most signs, and it is worth being blunt about it. The reasoning you will see everywhere is that Venus is exalted in Meen, therefore a diamond suits Pisces. That confuses two entirely different gradings. Exaltation is a planet's dignity by sign; what decides whether strengthening a planet is safe for you is its FUNCTIONAL nature, which is reckoned from your ascendant and not from your Moon. And for a Meen ascendant, Venus is a functional malefic — it rules the third and the eighth from that lagna — despite being exalted in the very sign. Strengthening it on the exaltation argument is precisely backwards. For Meen rising, the functional benefics are Jupiter, the Moon and Mars, and there is no yogakaraka. If all you know is your Moon sign, then no honest astrologer can grade your stones at all, because the grading needs a birth time. We would rather say that than sell you one.

On Sade Sati remedies specifically, our position is narrow and we will hold it. The classical practices for Saturn — Shanivar observance, sesame and iron donation, feeding those who have less, the Hanuman Chalisa in the North Indian tradition — are devotional acts with a long history, and if they steady you, they steady you. What they are not is a mechanism for cancelling a transit, and nobody who tells you otherwise can show you the text that says so. The genuinely load-bearing Meen response to this phase is the ordinary one described in the section above: structure, rest, smaller commitments, and asking for help sooner than feels necessary.

The lordship map from Meena — one graha over the self and the career, another over gain and loss

Which planet owns each house, permanently. It is the half of a rashifal that does not expire when the transit does.

Jupiter owns Meena and Dhanu, and Dhanu is the 10th from here, so the same graha defines who you are and what you are known for. Kanya is the only other rashi with its 1st and 10th under one lord, using Mercury — and the two cases are not equivalent. From Kanya the shared lord is exalted in the 1st; from Meena the shared lord has its moolatrikona in the 10th, in Dhanu. That is the Meena-specific version of the fact: your rashi lord is at its working seat in the house of public standing rather than at its ceiling in the house of the self. Read plainly, it says the career is where this sign does its real labour, whatever the reputation for drift suggests.

The other pairing is unusual and gets no coverage anywhere. Saturn owns Makara and Kumbha, and from Meena those are the 11th and the 12th — gain and loss, income and expenditure, side by side under one graha. Every other rashi has those two houses answering to different owners. For a Meen Moon it means what comes in and what goes out are not independent variables: a Saturn period tightens or loosens both at once, which is the structural reason this sign so rarely experiences a windfall as a windfall. Elsewhere Mercury holds your 4th and 7th, home and partner; Venus your 3rd and 8th; Mars your 2nd and 9th. Your 6th belongs to the Sun, a single-sign luminary — the only other rashi arranged that way is Kumbh, with the Moon.

Cross it against the computed sky and the entry is Saturn’s. On 7 August 2026 Saturn was at 20°07′ Meena, retrograde — on your own Moon sign, and owning your 11th and 12th while it stood there. The graha of both your money houses was sitting on your rashi and moving backwards. Jupiter, owner of your 1st and 10th, was exalted at 13°49′ in your 5th with the Sun and Mercury. Venus, owner of your 3rd and 8th, was in your 7th at its own debilitation. The 2nd, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th held nothing slow at all.

Meen, Meena, Pisces — and why your Sun sign probably will not match

Meen (also written Meena) is Pisces. The Sanskrit is simply "fish", and the symbol is two of them bound together and swimming in opposite directions — an image of a thing pulled two ways at once that is a better summary of the sign than any adjective, and one that Revati, whose own symbol is a single fish, quietly completes at the sign's end.

The dates are where the confusion starts, so here they are separately. Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac fixed to the stars, with the Lahiri ayanamsa; Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac fixed to the equinox. The two have drifted roughly 24° apart, and the gap is precession, not an error in either system. In 2026 the Sun was in sidereal Meen from 15 March to 15 April on our computation, and it shifts by about a day from year to year. Tropical Pisces runs roughly 19 February to 20 March. So a great many people who have been told their whole lives that they are Pisces compute as Kumbh in a Vedic chart, and a fair number of people born in early April discover they are sidereal Meen having never once been called it.

Then the distinction that matters more than the dates, and that the dates have nothing to do with. "Meen Rashi" in Indian practice almost always means your MOON sign — where the Moon actually was at your birth — not your Sun sign. Everything on this page is written for the Moon, because that is what rashifal means by rashi, and the transit arithmetic above is counted from Meen as a Moon sign. The Moon changes sign roughly every two and a quarter days, so no date range can ever give you your Moon sign; it needs your birth date, and ideally the time. If you arrived here knowing only that you are "a Pisces" from a Western horoscope, the honest position is that you may or may not be Meen Rashi — and given that this page describes a peak Sade Sati, it is worth finding out before you take any of it personally.

Meen against Dhanu — the two Jupiter signs are not interchangeable

Nearly every sentence written about "Jupiter-ruled people" is really a sentence about Dhanu, and Meen natives spend years failing to recognise themselves in it. These are the structural differences, all checkable — none of them is a personality judgement, and each one produces a different Jupiter.

Both signs are dvisvabhava (dual), which is the one structural feature they genuinely share — and it is why both are adaptable, and why neither holds a position simply because it held it yesterday.

Counting from Meen, the tenth is Dhanu, and Dhanu is Jupiter's too. Only one other rashi has that arrangement (Kanya, through Mercury), and the consequence for you is that career is not experienced as a separate department of life. When the work stops meaning something, a Meen Moon does not underperform — it disengages entirely, usually before it can explain why. Your money houses are held by Mars and Saturn — the two natural malefics — which is a harder pair than the sign's reputation suggests and explains why "unworldly Pisces" is usually wrong about the mechanism. The second, savings and stored value, is Mesh under Mars: money that arrives in bursts and is spent decisively rather than leaked. The eleventh, gains and networks, is Makara under Saturn: income that builds slowly and rewards persistence. Two dated changes matter. Rahu enters Makara, your eleventh, around 6 December 2026 — amplification of income channels, and of the appetite that comes with them. Then Saturn enters Mesh, your second, around 7 June 2027, beginning the closing phase of Sade Sati: that phase presses on accumulated resources, family obligations and speech rather than on identity, and Meen natives typically find it less frightening and more expensive than the phase they are in now. This is the most structurally elegant fact about a Meen Moon and nobody mentions it. Venus exalts in Meen at 27° and falls in Kanya at 27° — so the axis running from your Moon sign to your seventh house is precisely the axis along which the karaka of relationships travels from its highest point to its lowest. You look across from the place Venus is strongest to the place Venus is weakest. In practice that is the recurring Meen partnership pattern: enormous capacity to love, paired with a partner-facing house that demands exactly the auditing, specificity and plain speech the sign finds hardest. It is also why Meen natives are drawn to people who are more precise than they are, and why they then experience that precision as coldness. In the Kalapurusha scheme Meen governs the feet, and the sign's constitutional lean is kapha and meda — water and Jupiter together tend toward retention, sluggish metabolism and fluid rather than the dryness of an air sign or the heat of a fire one. The practical standing vulnerabilities are lymphatic and circulatory sluggishness, the feet themselves, sleep quality, and a genuinely low tolerance for substances, which the classical texts are unusually direct about for this sign. The current sky adds two specifics: Ketu is in Simha, the sixth from Meen — the house of illness and of the disciplines that resolve it — which classically favours quiet recovery and disfavours chasing diagnoses; and Saturn on the Moon reliably depresses energy and sleep across this phase. Is Meen Rashi in Sade Sati right now?

Yes, and in the middle and hardest of its three phases. Sade Sati is Saturn transiting the 12th, 1st and 2nd from your Moon; for Meen that is Kumbh, Meen and Mesh. Saturn entered Kumbh around 20 January 2023, entered Meen itself — your Moon sign, the peak phase, called Janma Shani — around 1 April 2025, and reaches Mesh around 7 June 2027. It retrogrades back into Meen that October for a last pass and leaves for good around 27 February 2028, then works through Mesh until the cycle fully clears around 21 April 2030. So the peak has roughly ten months left on its main pass. Two honest qualifications: this is a transit with dates, not a sentence, and your own sign lord Jupiter is currently exalted in Karka and aspecting Meen, which is a genuine concurrent support and is specific to Meen right now.

Is Meen Rashi the same as the Pisces star sign?

Same 30° slice by name, measured from a different starting point, and covering different dates — and, more importantly, usually a different planet. Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac (Lahiri); Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, and the two have drifted about 24° apart through precession. The Sun was in sidereal Meen from 15 March to 15 April in 2026, against tropical Pisces at roughly 19 February to 20 March. But the bigger difference is that a Western "Pisces" is a Sun sign while Meen Rashi means your Moon sign. The Moon changes sign every two and a quarter days, so there is no date range for it — only a computed chart will tell you, and plenty of lifelong Pisceans turn out to be Kumbh.

Does Neptune or Ketu rule Meen Rashi?

Neither. Jupiter is the sole lord of Meen in Parashari astrology, which is the position AskSoma computes with. Neptune has no place in Jyotish at all — discovered in 1846, absent from every classical text, no rulership, no aspect, no dasha — so the familiar "Pisces is ruled by Neptune, hence dreamy" line is Western astrology being read into a Vedic chart. Ketu is a more reasonable question but still a no: the secondary co-lordship tradition assigns Rahu to Kumbh and Ketu to Vrishchika, and does not include Meen. What genuinely links Ketu to this sign is shared significations — Ketu is the moksha karaka and Meen is the natural twelfth, the moksha house — which is a resonance, not a rulership. Whether Ketu even has an exaltation sign is itself disputed between texts, which is why our engine assigns the nodes none.

Which nakshatras fall in Meen Rashi?

Three, and unusually two of them lie wholly inside the sign. Purva Bhadrapada contributes only its fourth pada (330°00′–333°20′, lord Jupiter). Uttara Bhadrapada contributes all four padas (333°20′–346°40′, lord Saturn). Revati contributes all four (346°40′–360°00′, lord Mercury) and closes the zodiac. That is nine padas of 3°20′, totalling the sign's 30°. Meen is one of only three rashis holding two complete nakshatras — the others are Karka and Vrishchika, the other two water signs. Worth knowing if your Moon is near the end: Revati pada 4 is vargottama, it contains Venus's deepest exaltation at 27° Meen, and it is gandanta.

Should a Meen native wear a diamond because Venus is exalted in Pisces?

No — and this is the single most common bad recommendation given to this sign. Exaltation is a planet's dignity by sign. What decides whether it is safe to strengthen a planet for you is its functional nature, which is reckoned from your ASCENDANT, not your Moon. For a Meen ascendant, Venus rules the 3rd and the 8th and is a functional malefic, exalted in the sign or not; the functional benefics there are Jupiter, the Moon and Mars, and there is no yogakaraka. So the exaltation argument for a diamond is exactly backwards for anyone with Meen rising. And if you only know your Moon sign, the grading genuinely cannot be done at all — it needs a birth time. We would rather tell you that than take the sale.

What time of day is today's Meen rashifal accurate for?

The daily reading is anchored to the transiting Moon against your natal Meen Moon. The Moon moves about 13° a day, so the house it occupies counting from Meen changes roughly every two and a quarter days, and tithi and nakshatra usually turn over mid-day rather than at midnight — a rashifal written for "today" is really written for a window that does not align with your calendar date. The Moon was last in Meen from about 2 August 2026 and returns around 29 August. Days when the transiting Moon is in Meen itself, or in Karka (your 5th, currently holding exalted Jupiter), tend to read most sharply for this sign.
