2. Now the sign duration. Rahu covers about 30° in roughly eighteen months, which is about 1°35′ per month of retrograde motion. From 12°40′ Gemini it needs to travel back through the remaining 12°40′ of Gemini to reach Taurus — roughly eight months away.
3. And the nakshatra: 12°40′ Gemini falls in Ardra, which spans 6°40′ to 20°00′ of Gemini. Ardra is ruled by Rahu itself, so this placement sits in its own nakshatra — a detail with far more interpretive weight than the sign name, and one you would miss reading only "Rahu in Gemini".
4. Finally, the boundary check. Because this position is well inside Ardra rather than near an edge, the mean-versus-true node question does not change the answer here. Within about a degree and a half of any sign or nakshatra boundary, it can.

Two checks anyone can run — the nodes are exactly opposite, and the nakshatra is finer than the sign. Both are arithmetic, and both are more informative than the sign label on its own.

What this tool can NOT tell you
