How a planet moves into the D10 — the rule, then three real calculations

1. The rule (Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra): divide each sign into ten parts of 3°. For an ODD sign (Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius) count the divisions starting from that sign itself. For an EVEN sign (Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces) count starting from the NINTH sign from it.
2. Example 1 — Sun at 5°10′ Leo. 5°10′ falls in the 2nd division (3°–6°). Leo is odd, so count from Leo: 1st = Leo, 2nd = Virgo. D10 Sun = Virgo — authority expressed through analysis and service.
3. Example 2 — Saturn at 27°40′ Cancer. 27°40′ falls in the 10th division (27°–30°). Cancer is even, so count from the 9th sign from Cancer, which is Pisces. The 10th from Pisces is Sagittarius. D10 Saturn = Sagittarius — discipline applied to teaching, law, or guidance.
4. Example 3 — Ascendant degree at 14°20′ Libra. 14°20′ falls in the 5th division (12°–15°). Libra is odd, so count from Libra: the 5th sign is Aquarius. D10 Lagna = Aquarius — a career conducted through systems and networks.

What this tool can NOT tell you

• No divisional chart names your employer or job title. The D10 reads environment, register, and arc — "institutional, late-blooming, advisory" — and that is genuinely useful; anything more specific from any calculator is theatre.

There is no universally good career Dasha — it depends entirely on your chart. A "great" Dasha lord for one chart is a difficult one for another, because functional benefic and malefic status changes with your rising sign.
