3. Now check the 9th lord: if it sits in the 12th (loss/foreign lands), the reading strengthens again — fortune arrives late and often far from home.
4. Finally look for relief: a Jupiter aspect on the 9th, or the Sun in its own sign Leo, softens the whole picture considerably.

Three afflicting factors with no benefic relief reads as a genuine ancestral theme worth honouring with regular tarpana. The same Sun–Rahu with a Jupiter aspect is a gentle note, not a life sentence — context is everything.
