Two of the nine own no sign, exalt nowhere and never run a mahadasha of their own on the strength of a rulership — Rahu and Ketu are crossing points of the Moon’s orbit rather than bodies, and the table shows the gap as dashes rather than filling it in. The other seven divide the twelve signs between them: five hold two signs each, and the Sun and Moon hold one apiece.
The pace column is the one that decides how a transit is read. Saturn takes about two and a half years to cross a sign and the Moon takes two and a quarter days — a ratio of roughly four hundred to one, which is why Saturn restructures a life area and the Moon colours an afternoon.
